DEDICATED TO

Putting our Kids First

About Me.

As the Founder of STEPP Forward, I am passionate about education support services and dedicated to creating opportunities for students, parents and schools to thrive together.  As a non-instructional family consultant and liaison, my focus is on supporting K-12 students and families, strengthening school relationships, and advocacy. We achieve this by building communities, fostering academic enrichment, and prioritizing personal development, life skills development, and parent engagement for lifelong success. Empowering Families and Building Futures!

With over 30 years of experience in information technology, education, community engagement, paralegal studies and project management.  Years of life experience, I bring a unique perspective to tackling challenges in today's educational landscape. As a recipient of 2020 Outstanding Woman Leader Award at Columbus State Community College, I possess a solid set of strengths including being motivated by achievement and meeting goals; creating harmony within the work environment; being a continuous learner and always developing.  Member by invitation Phi Theta Kappa (PTK).

My educational background is AA in Business Administration, BA Management Information Systems (Capital University), BS Information Technology (Devry University), Paralegal Studies Certificate and Project Management Certificate (Columbus State Community College).

I have worked across public, private, and charter school, empowering parents and students through advocacy, resource connection, and engagement strategies.  As a parent consultant involved parent/community engagement and finding resources for parents to help their children be successful after-school.  District leadership team parent representative and STEPP Advisory Team to develop strategies to engage parents and maintain open dialogue with families and the school by promoting growth for all.  My work with the Aspire OH adult workforce readiness program further highlights my commitment to innovative education solutions for virtual technology distance education pilot focused on synchronous learning with four programs and advocated for adult student learners. I have been married to my husband for 38 years, mom to 2 children, and 3 grandchildren.

I am seeking a seat on the Columbus City Schools Board of Education because I believe every student in our district deserves a high-quality education that equips them for success beyond high school.  Too many students are falling behind, families feel disconnected, and untapped opportunities are slipping away. We need fresh leadership that truly puts our students first.  I am ready to take on the mantle of leadership, serving as an advocate for our students.  My goal is to ensure every student has access to the tools, resources, and opportunities needed to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

My vision centers on three key priorities:

Increasing Graduation Rates by expanding credit recovery program that integrates essential life skills – such as financial literacy, resume building, effective communication and hands-on trade training which could lead to the workforce straight out of high school.

Expanding Career & Technical Education (CTE) with work-based learning opportunities to thrive in an ever-evolving workforce. Continue to work during the summer to earn wages, learn and thrive.

Engaging Parents & the Community to invest in early education initiatives that build strong foundations, launching a PreK Kindergarten Readiness pilot program starting at age 4 to ensure our youngest learners are ready to start kindergarten.
